Conformance & Success Criteria

Success criteria#

A criterion

  1. Is written to be verifiable
  2. Belongs to a guideline under a POUR principle
  3. Has a level: A, AA, or AAA

Conformance levels#

Levels

  1. A — essential barriers; incomplete alone for most products
  2. AA — common target for products and regulations
  3. AAA — additional enhancements; not required for all content types

Conformance is claimed for a defined scope (pages, processes, technologies)—not vibes.
